The City is working to create a range of housing options in Sumner.
Sumner, like other communities, is facing a pressing need for more housing. Affordable housing. Housing for seniors. Homes for young families. Nearby housing for workers. The City is actively engaged in addressing these housing needs.
In 2021, the City (jointly with Bonney Lake) developed and adopted the Housing Action Plan (HAP). The HAP examined the housing needs of Sumner and identified a number of Priorities for Action to help address significant gaps in available housing. The City is working on implementing these housing priorities, starting with the projects listed below.
