Letters mailed directly to past recipients of support from the City of Sumner budget.

Advertising opportunity in print newsletter, e-newsletter, social media and other options.

All requests must be submitted. No late submissions will be accepted. Limit one application per organization.

Staff review and add recommendations/past insight.

Applicants advancing in the process will receive notification to prepare a presentation.

Presentations given to the City Council at their Study Session. Max 5 minutes per applicant/organization followed by a Q&A time for Council. NOTE: providing handouts or setting up a powerpoint/video counts against your time. We recommend you use your time more as a discussion with the Council than a formal presentation.  

Council continues to review & finalize budget.

Funded applicants receive check of funding in the mail.

Any further requests made to staff for sponsorship, “waived fees” or similar support will be redirected to this process for 2025-2026.

All applicants to complete written status update.

All applicants to provide final update on use of funding, even if still in progress, to start process for 2025-2026 budget requests.  

NOTE: failure to use the funds as requested or to appropriately thank the taxpayers of Sumner for their support may result in rejection of future funding requests.
